Trail Work Day: American Fork CanyonJune 27, 2009 - NEW DATE!MARK YOUR CALENDARS! URMB, in conjunction with the US Forest Service, is sponsoring a trail work day on Saturday, June 27th. We will be completing the re-route of the mud-bog portion of the South Fork Little Deer Creek trail (Trail #252) that we began last August. We will be building a turnpike through the area. We believe this re-reroute will help to eliminate the annual erosion and mud bog problems that this section of trail always seems to have. This re-route has been reviewed and approved by the US Forest Service. We will be working from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Great care has been taken to ensure that this trail, including the re-route, will be accessible to ALL user groups. For ICUP racers, this is a great way to accumulate those critical 2009 trail work points. Please come join us, whether it is for the whole day or only a few hours. All tools will be provided. Keep tuned to this web site, or over at urmb.org, for more details as the day approaches. For a flyer, click here. For maps of the reroute site, click here or here. Do you like to ride? Have you ever wondered how you can give back to the mountains? Join us, a club of mountain biking enthusiasts centered in Utah County. We are riders, trail builders, trail advocates and partners with other trail users. We look beyond the next bend in the trail and the next ride to ensure trails for the future. URMB currently has adopted the Bonneville Shoreline from the Provo River Parkway trail to Squaw Peak Road (Trail #219) in Provo Canyon. We've also adopted the Ridge (Trail #157), Ridge Connector (Trail #216), Salamander Flat (Trail #150), Pine Hollow (Trail #047), Willow Hollow (Trail #159), and South Fork Little Deer Creek (Trail #252) trails in American Fork Caynon. URMB is an IMBA affiliated club. We follow IMBA Rules of the Trail. We need your help to maintain trails and keep them open for mountain bikers as well as other user groups. Club activities include: trail building , trail maintenance and instruction, weekly rides during the summer months, and bicycle maintenance and wheel building classes. We currently conduct trail work and trail-advocacy with the Uinta National Forest Service and Provo City. URMB will never let meetings interfere with riding! Join up and help us grow! Join the club |
