Trail Work Day: American Fork CanyonSeptember 19, 20098:00 AM - 1:30 PMOur final trail work day of the year will be in American Fork Canyon, assisting the US Forest Service with the finish work on the recently completed Mill Canyon reroute (working on the backslope, removing roots, removing the outside berm and cleaning out end of drainage dips). As with all of our work days, no previous experience is necessary, only good health and a willing attitude. Check our Events page for details. Feel free to print out and distribute a copy of the work day poster. Trail Work Day: American Fork CanyonJuly 10, 2009We finished the South Fork Little Deer Creek reroute project! We had 14 volunteers from the mountain bike and motorcycle communities show up to help along with 5 US Forest Service personnel and 2 members of the YCC. A big thank you to all that came and gave your time and support throughout the project. Next time you're up in American Fork Canyon riding South Fork Little Deer Creek, check out the newly rerouted section! Trail Work Day: American Fork CanyonJune 27, 2009The trail work day on June 27th was a rousing success! We had 20 volunteers from the mountain bike and motorcycle communities show up to help along with nearly a dozen Forest Service personnel. A big thank you to all of those that came out and helped today with the reroute through the mud bog on South Fork Little Deer Creek trail up in American Fork Canyon! Lonnie, Nathan, Jake, Andrew, Steve, Philip, Kevin, Kerry, Derek, Mike D., Mike D., Chris, Jason, Carlo, Jennifer, Kendra, Mandy, Kris, and Marc, thank you! It was an awesome display of different user groups coming together to fix a section of trail that has been a problem for all of us. Also, a big thank you to Cheryl Butler of the US Forest Service and her entire crew for their efforts. It is obvious that they are as passionate about making this a first rate as we all are. They were great to work with. While we didn't finish, we did make significant progress. Do you like to ride? Have you ever wondered how you can give back to the mountains? Join us, a club of mountain biking enthusiasts centered in Utah County. We are riders, trail builders, trail advocates and partners with other trail users. We look beyond the next bend in the trail and the next ride to ensure trails for the future. URMB currently has adopted the Bonneville Shoreline from the Provo River Parkway trail to Squaw Peak Road (Trail #219) in Provo Canyon. We've also adopted the Ridge (Trail #157), Ridge Connector (Trail #216), Salamander Flat (Trail #150), Pine Hollow (Trail #047), Willow Hollow (Trail #159), and South Fork Little Deer Creek (Trail #252) trails in American Fork Caynon. URMB is an IMBA affiliated club. We follow IMBA Rules of the Trail. We need your help to maintain trails and keep them open for mountain bikers as well as other user groups. Club activities include: trail building , trail maintenance and instruction, weekly rides during the summer months, and bicycle maintenance and wheel building classes. We currently conduct trail work and trail-advocacy with the Uinta National Forest Service and Provo City. URMB will never let meetings interfere with riding! Join up and help us grow! Join the club |
