- What tools should I bring? URMB and the US Forest Service will
provide all the necessary tools. We recommend you bring work gloves, sunscreen,
mosquito repellent, snack/lunch, water, and a hat. You should also wear
sturdy work shoes and long pants. Weather in the mountains and canyons
can change quickly. A jacket or rain poncho are never a bad idea.
- Is there anything I shouldn't bring? Young children and animals are at risk in a work zone. We don't recommend bringing either. Treat the work area like a construction site.
- What should I wear? Wear sturdy work shoes and long pants. Work gloves are also helpful. The temperature may vary during the day, so layering is important. A hat to protect you from
the sun is also a good idea.
- What else should I bring? You will probably also want to bring
water, lunch and snacks. Mosquito repellant and sunscreen are always a good
idea as well.
- What if I can't make it at the beginning of the work day? What if I
can't stay until the end of the work day? We'll take all of the help
we can get. If your circumstances dictate, feel free to come a bit late
or leave a bit early. We're meeting at the Elk Camp turnout which is
approximately 1.5 miles down from the Cascade Springs turnoff. We'll
be working on the section of South Fork Little Deer Creek trail (#252).
The work section is starts about 100 yards above the Elk Camp parking
area. Regardless of what time you arrive or leave, there will be plenty
of work to do!
- Do I have to be a member of the URMB club to participate? While we'd love to have you join us as a member, the short answer is no, you do not need to be
a member of URMB to participate in our work day.
